Further to my circular to Branches dated 26th May 2005, I understand that in some areas rumours are circulating that the union has reached agreement on acceptance of the company's application of their drugs and alcohol policy.

I wish to make it clear that this is not the case. We shall be pursuing our areas of concern at the forthcoming meeting with Network Rail and I shall write to you again as soon as I am in a position to do so.
