Great Western Company Procedures

The Great Western Trains Company Limited inherited from British Rail a number of Procedural Agreements which had been reached with the recognised Trade Unions. The Company and the Trade Unions believed that these Procedural Agreements should continue to determine the relationship between them, subject to the amendments which were necessary to make them specific to the Company.

The main change made concerns the establishment of a Company Council to deal with matters affecting the whole Company. Divisional and local arrangements are effectively unchanged. Other, essentially minor, changes have been made to the wording to ensure the Procedures relate only to Great Western.
