Latest CN train derailment prompts investigation

The Globe and Mail: December 16, 2005

Prince George -- A CN Rail train derailed near Fort St. James yesterday, the latest in a string of accidents.

Canadian National spokesman Graham Dallas said 15 cars of a 48-car northbound train left the tracks at about 4 a.m., and that most of the cars were empty forest-product cars. He said there were no injuries or hazardous materials involved.

"Our No. 1 goal is to investigate to determine what the cause is," Mr. Dallas said. Last week, there were two CN derailments in the province in a single day. CP
