Operations Review - Network Rail

RMT: 15 December 2005

Circular No. IR482/05 Ref : BR5/0276
RMT continues to fight for bargaining right - full details below.

Further to my circular of 1st December 2005 (IR466/05), a second national principles meeting has taken place at which this union?s representatives continued to make it clear that it remains completely unacceptable for individuals to be placed in Role Clarity positions that exclude them from being represented by the union of their choice.

We demanded an assurance that the RMT will continue to have bargaining rights for all staff affected by this Review and the company agreed to respond in writing in the very near future. Once such an assurance is received this union will be in a position to commence meaningful consultation on the proposals.

I shall write to you again as soon as there are developments to report.

General Secretary,
Bob Crow
