Rail machine crashes into bridge
BBC News: 18 April 2006
A railway bridge was severely damaged when an engineering machine crashed into it during a bank holiday weekend engineering posession.
No-one was injured, but the crash at Cosham in Portsmouth, Hampshire, on Monday night damaged the bridge which carries the A3 over the railway line.
Work is under way to make the bridge safe, but the southbound carriageway of the A3, near junction 12 of the M27, had to be closed.
The road was partially reopened on Tuesday morning.
