Disabled Women at work

A South-West TUC Workshop to look at the problems faced by disabled women at work, and gather ideas and solutions. Saturday 18th November, 11.00-15.30

The workshop is free, and will be held at the Albemarle Centre, Albemarle Road, Taunton, TA1 1BA. It is aimed at trades unionists, disabled women, and other interested groups or people.

To register: contact 0117 947 0521 or email southwest@tuc.org.uk

While both men and women living with disabilities face the same kinds of discrimination and exclusion, the reality for women can be much starker. The aim of the day is to gather information and plan action. The event will give women who don't usually have a voice an opportunity to get together and explore common issues.

Do disabled women face double discrimination?

Are disabled women expected to care for themselves more than men are?

Are there special issues facing disabled women and the trades unions who represent them?
